Heaven on Earth

I highly recommend Hibiscus at Merlin Bay. Beach is to die for and very secluded. We hope to come back again. Only drawback was the prices of food and restaurants. Also be sure to bring mosquito spray. My daughter was covered with bites even with spray:(.

Seventeen Americans in Barbados

The task to find our group a vacation rental in our budget is never easy. Last year we were 22 and had an amazing time on St. Martin. This year rental escapes and Myles in particular found an outstanding property for 17 of us traveling together over Easter. We stayed in three separate villas on Barbados in the Merlin Bay complex. Five families were accommodated in Gingerbread, Nutmeg and Hibiscus. All three villas were beautiful and the complex was meticulously kept. I stayed in Gingerbread and cannot speak highly enough of Cheryl the cook and Jessica the housekeeper. The fact that the food shopping, cleaning and laundry were all taken care of was amazing and so relaxing. On top of that the food that Cheryl prepared was better than any restaurant we went to. As a matter of fact we cancelled our dinner reservations and only went out to dinner on the night the staff was off. Thank you to Myles for finding the perfect accommodations and Anne Marie the onsite concierge for all their help. On island, Ann Marie was so responsive. One day we were stranded at Crane Beach Resort and she was able to hunt down our taxi driver and add an additional driver to our return trip. Any request was never to much for Anne Marie. I worked with Tim Montgomery, our concierge, to plan a number of excursions, pre-stocking the villa with food and beverages and he was so attentive and amazing. He even looked into some things for us that he had never booked before. While we were on island he was even able to cancel a dinner reservation for me when I could not get an answer at the restaurant. I highly recommend using Tim's and rental escapes expertise when booking excursions. The transfers were prompt and so accommodating, the sunset catamaran trip was phenomenal. Good Times Too was a stunning 50 foot private catamaran with the most helpful, lovely staff. We were their second excursion of the day and they could not have been nicer. Leading the kids to turtles and fish for the most perfect experience. They also ran around the boat serving cocktails and drinks for the adults and kids. Thank you to Dwight, Andre and Joseph for an amazing evening. Tim also organized a fishing trip for the men on Legacy Fishing Charters and surfing lessons for the women and children. Barry's Surf school was an over top the success. Everyone got up on the board with no previous lessons. They were very professional. Safety came first but fun was not far behind. We had three instructors for nine of us,Andrew, Danny and Matt and they were able to get us into the waves on so many tries, they guaranteed we could not fail. Our group ranged in age from 9 to 51 so thank you to Barry's. We can't wait for our next adventure with Rental Escapes, it might even be back to Barbados next year. Thank you for an amazing trip.
