Luxury Villa Rentals for 2+ people
Lying along the Dominican Republic’s untamed northern coast, Cabrera’s lush jungle landscapes and rugged coastlines promise beautiful vistas and true adventure. Luxury Cabrera villas build on this mystique with some of the country’s most exclusive and private stays.
Originally inhabited by the Taíno people, Cabrera was much slower to develop compared to other parts of the Dominican. Its history has largely been agricultural, and its roads were limited up until the late 20th century. Around that time, it started to attract developers focused on low-density luxury through private, eco-conscious villas.
The city maintains this heritage to this day. Here, luxury Cabrera villas offer a private resort experience thanks to unparalleled access to untouched nature. This is where you go to truly get away from it all, with fully staffed villas personalizing your experience every step of the way.
Rental Escapes makes renting a luxury villa in Cabrera easy. First, choose your travel dates. Next, select your party size. From there, your Rental Escapes Villa Specialist will happily present you with the best available luxury Cabrera villas for your group. After, your Concierge customizes your trip, including transportation, chef service, excursions, boat charters, and more.
You won’t find high-rises or large resorts in Cabrera, but you will find some of the Dominican’s biggest and best villas. This allows Cabrera villas to feel more like hidden retreats, offering high-end, celebrity-worthy vacation experiences that provide the ultimate in rejuvenation.
Luxury Cabrera villas can be found all across the area, including in Orchid Bay Estates, a gated community with cliffside homes; SeaTree Estates, just east of Orchid Bay; Playa Grande, home to the Playa Grande Golf Course; and more.
No matter where you stay, expect large, custom-built homes, with layouts that maximize your appreciation of the surrounding views. You can also expect 5-star service, including from the villa’s staff and from your Concierge.
Ideally suited for larger groups, these luxury Cabrera villas offer endless opportunities to connect with your friends and family. They include:

It sits beachfront and features an indoor basketball court, a large pool area, a wonderfully landscaped Moroccan garden, and so much more. A great choice for celebrity and VIP groups looking for a private oasis.
ANI Dominican Republic: Set on its own private peninsula, ANI is a private resort that offers the ultimate in beachfront luxury. It uses an elevated contemporary tropical aesthetic to create a sense of serenity, while over 30 staff members work tirelessly to create a personalized experience at every step of the way.

Most travelers will fly into Puerto Plata Airport. From there, it’s about a 1.5-hour drive to Cabrera. The road is scenic and mostly coastal.
Samana El Catey Airport is another airport option. It’s smaller, with a growing number of international flights, and is about 1.25 hours away.
Your Concierge can help arrange airport transfers, rental cars, and any other transportation needs.
The best way to get around Cabrera is by private driver. Private drivers can take you to beaches, restaurants, and local sites. They know the roads well, and double as local tour guides.
If you’re comfortable driving abroad, then a rental car is also a good way to get around. It’ll let you explore more on your own, and the roads along the coast are mostly paved and scenic. GPS also works, though it’s a good idea to download offline maps.
Taxis are also available, but they should be called or arranged in advance.
Your Rental Escapes Concierge can help with private drivers, rental cars, and more.

Yes, Cabrera is considered one of the safest areas in the Dominican, especially if you’re staying in a luxury villa. It’s a quiet, low-key town with low crime rates and low tourist traffic. Locals are used to tourists, but are not overwhelmed by them, and are not pushy.
Most luxury villas are also in gated communities or have their own 24/7 security and staff.
Relax at Playa Grande: Backed by palms and cliffs, Playa Grande offers great swimming conditions, plus dramatic waves for surfers. There are also a few rustic beach bars and vendors for fresh grilled fish.
Swim in Laguna El Dudu: A natural freshwater lagoon set inside a limestone sinkhole. You can cliff jump, swim, or zipline across the water. Ask your Concierge for excursion information.
Visit Salto El Limon Waterfall: A stunning 130-foot waterfall, reachable only by horseback or hiking trail. It’s 2.5 hours away, but it’s one of the best day trips you can make from Cabrera. Ask your Concierge for more information.
The food in Cabrera is simple, fresh, and rooted in local ingredients. Expect Dominican staples like grilled fish and coconut rice, as well as fresh seafood like lobster, red snapper, shrimp, and crab. Restaurants here are mostly relaxed spots by the coast.

Whether you want Dominican, Mediterranean, plant-based, kid-friendly, or fine dining, your chef can make it, and it can be served to you poolside, at the dining table, or wherever else you want.
Your Concierge can help you arrange the details of your chef service and pre-stocking for any of our luxury Cabrera villas.
