Your Guide to Split Villas

The second-largest city in Croatia, Split sits on a central peninsula by the eastern shore of the Adriatic Sea. Its coastline is adorned with pebbly beaches, rocky cliffs, and crystal-clear water, while the city itself offers a rich history and an intoxicating culture. Split villas let you experience the best of both worlds with private refuges conveniently located close to town.

The history of Split is multifaceted and dates back to the Roman Emperor Diocletian, whose palace remains the historic center of the city. Split also features a wealth of Byzantine, Gothic, and Romanesque buildings from its medieval period, as well as a ton of Renaissance buildings from its Venetian rule. Today, you can wander Split’s narrow streets and take in the palaces, walls, gates, and buildings that serve as a testament to this heritage.

In addition to its fascinating history, Split also has a captivating culture. The Mediterranean lifestyle is in full force here, with plenty of great cafes and a cuisine that emphasizes freshness above all. There are also plenty of festivals, a lively music scene, and a ton of galleries and museums to enjoy.
