The Maremma coast, approximately one and half hours from Rome, is in the southwestern part of Tuscany and is a region characterized by rolling hills, forests, and coastal plains. This area is known for producing prestigious wines, particularly red wines made from the Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Syrah grape varieties. These wines are often referred to as "Super Tuscans" and are known for their rich, full-bodied flavor and high quality. This specific part of Tuscany was described as the “wilder version of the Côte d'Azur with less of the pretense and less expensive food” and it is rich with interesting sites to explore and opportunities to experience art, wellness, food and wine, golfing, and beach life - all within reach. Rubirossa, composed by a main villa and its annex, has the fortune to be set in this interesting part of Tuscany, with a unique combination of natural beauty, cultural richness, and gastronomic delights, making the villa a popular vacation retreat for tourists and wine lovers alike.

Once a simple country house, Rubirossa has been transformed to a welcoming, inviting, refined accommodation. Flooded with natural light thanks to many large windows, the L-shaped living room with fireplace is simply and yet wistfully designed and decorated, and it opens onto the sitting area, a dining area and a spacious alcove with large TV and another massive fireplace. The sophisticated and soothing palette enhances the general relaxing atmosphere. The adjacent fully equipped kitchen has outdoor access to facilitate alfresco dining. Next to the kitchen, a study/leisure room is connected to a small hammam with a steam bath.

On the upper floor, via a set of stairs with handrails, is a lounge area with glass and iron internal walls and with panoramic picture windows.

The furnished patio overlooks the impeccably manicured lawn, an additional pergola is added on one side of the villa and features a comfortable long table near the built-in grill, perfect for entertaining and dining alfresco. The well-appointed sun deck, with the private swimming pool placed on one side of the property, is provided with a pergola – an easy recovery during the hot hours.

The private vegetable garden is at the disposal of the guests when they prefer to use the local produce of the season. The villa offers complete privacy within its gardens, and it can be easily reached from the main state road.

This lovely area of Italy sits between Rome and Pisa, offering expansive, breathtaking views of the islands of Giglio and Elba. Highlights of the area include the unspoiled fishing village of Castiglione della Pescaia, endless stretches of dreamy sandy beaches and the medieval cobble-stoned village of Massa Marittima – lately becoming more and more popular and home to many international artists and socialites. Also worth a visit is the magical and mysterious city of Volterra, with its roots in three thousand years of history. We also strongly recommend visits to the towns of Populonia and Baratti, Suvereto, Campiglia Marittima, Castagneto Carducci, Bolgheri, and the chic harbor of Punta Ala. Boat rentals for cruising around the coast and private tours of the region's many acclaimed wineries can be arranged through our concierge.
