What are the Entry Requirements for Hvar?

Visitors from the US, Canada, the EU, Australia, and New Zealand must present a valid passport when entering Croatia. You may need an additional tourist if you’re traveling from outside these countries.

How to Get to Hvar?

The easiest way to get to Hvar is to fly into Split and take a ferry. Split Harbor is a 30-minute drive from the airport, and from there you can take a catamaran or a ferry to Hvar. Catamarans take about 1 hour, while ferries take about 2 hours. Speedboats and private yachts can also be arranged to take you to Hvar from Split in less than an hour. How to Get Around Hvar?

Renting a car is a great way to get around Hvar, especially if you are staying outside Hvar Town or wish to see more of the countryside. Best Time to Visit Hvar?

Peak season in Hvar is from June to August. It’s the perfect time to enjoy Hvar’s beautiful beaches, and there are plenty of events like the Hvar Summer Festival. Nightlife is also at its peak, with bustling bars, clubs, and beach parties. However, this is also when Hvar is most crowded.
Shoulder season is from April to May and September to October. The weather is mild and pleasant and is perfect for sightseeing. The water is still warm enough to swim in September, and in general, there is a more relaxed atmosphere. For many, this is the best time to go.
Off-season is from November to March. The weather cools down, but you can enjoy some true peace and tranquility. This time of year also lets you experience Hvar like a local, and the weather is also good for hiking. This is also when you’ll find the best deals on Hvar villas.

Is Hvar Safe?

Spring in Hvar is mild and pleasant, with temperatures gradually warming up. In March, average temperatures are around 13°C (55°F), rising to 18°C (64°F) in May. Rainfall is moderate, with averages ranging from 60 mm to 80 mm (2.4 to 3.1 inches) per month.
Summer is hot and sunny, with temperatures ranging from 25°C to 30°C (77°F to 86°F), often peaking above 30°C (86°F) in July and August. Rainfall is minimal, averaging about 30 mm (1.2 inches) per month, making it perfect for beach activities and enjoying the Adriatic Sea.
Autumn sees a gradual cooling, with September temperatures averaging 23°C (73°F) and November cooling down to around 15°C (59°F). Rainfall increases, particularly in October and November, with averages between 80 mm and 100 mm (3.1 to 3.9 inches) per month.
Winter in Hvar is mild compared to many European destinations, with temperatures ranging from 8°C to 12°C (46°F to 54°F). January is the coldest month. Rainfall is at its peak, with averages of 90 mm to 110 mm (3.5 to 4.3 inches) per month. Despite the cooler temperatures, the island remains picturesque and inviting.
