Casa Vela

This beautiful hand-crafted, all-hardwood beach house is situated on a 100-acre nature preserve on the Riviera Maya, just 35 minutes south of Cancun Airport.
Accommodates up to 4 couples or 2 families in four luxurious master suites, each with unobstructed ocean and forest views on either side. Features a romantic three-story palapa where guests can dine and lounge while gazing out on the water and feeling the ocean breeze. The white sand beach is at your feet, and walking trails take you through diverse eco-systems of forest, jungle, and mangrove.

Casa Vela is equipped with stand-up paddle boards, kayaks, table tennis and bocce for exercise and fun. Explore the adjacent fresh water spring-fed rivers ("cenotes" in the Mayan language) at Tres Rios - lovely for snorkeling and swimming against the current. Lots of recreation and entertainment is close by, including the award-winning Riviera Maya golf course designed by Robert Trent Jones II and "el Camaleon", the Greg Norman-designed PGA golf course at Mayakoba, the eco-cultural center Xcaret , the zip-lines at Xplor, and several major archaeological sites of the Mayan civilization such as Coba, Tulum and Chichen-Itza.

We designed and built Casa Vela using hand-hewn trees sustainably harvested in the region, and crafted all furniture on-site. We even saved the ends of the trees to make side tables, benches and chairs.

While we have modern conveniences like a well-equipped kitchen, air conditioning, Wi-Fi, and flat panel TVs, it is our hope you will be able to take full advantage of your getaway. We encourage you to take walks on the beach, use our kayaks and stand-up paddle boards, or simply relax to the ever-present rhythm of the waves. The home is spectacular, literally on the beach, so you willl wake up to the beautiful sunrise and the gentle surf. We are sure you will have a great time when you visit us.

SECURITY:
Full-time beach staff stay overnight downstairs and can connect you to the property manager who lives at the entrance if you should need anything.
