Push the doors open in the morning and the great room fills with garden — palms on one side, the pool on the other, light coming in from every direction. Villa Palmerie is a single-level, design-led villa on a walled garden plot in Cajuiles, on the western side of Casa de Campo where the streets stay quiet and the lots run large. It sleeps ten across five bedrooms, with a housekeeper and an included cook handling your meals. It's the villa for two families or a group of friends who care as much about where they're sitting as what they're doing.

Most of the day runs between the great room and the covered terrace. The terrace works as a second living room under a timber-slat roof. A deep lounge sits at one end and a long table at the other, so lunch and dinner happen a few steps from the pool with the fans turning overhead. The pool is long enough for real laps, with a shaded row of loungers down one side. Inside, the great room stays cool behind the glass, full of big potted palms, with a bold piece of art on nearly every wall to slow you down on the way through. When the group spreads out, each bedroom opens to its own patch of garden.

Villa Palmerie sits at the western end of the resort, so the golf and the spa are a short cart ride one way and Minitas Beach a short ride the other, with the Marina and Altos de Chavón a longer drive for a night out. It's the villa to book when the group wants a modern, single-level garden base built for long lunches and unhurried evenings, with the cooking handled and everyone moving easily between the pool and the great room.
