Famous for the Leaning Tower, Pisa is a must-see once-in-a-lifetime destination for visitors to Italy. However, while exploring the Miracle Square is something that cannot be missed, the unique and picturesque villages set in the surrounding areas of Pisa are worth a visit. The most famous area to explore is the hills of Volterra, a medieval city embraced by rolling hills where you can admire Etruscan and Roman sites and learn the alabaster art from local craftsmen. Going just a bit further, you reach San Gimignano and do not forget to pick up some wine on the way to enjoy at the villa.
