The Istrian peninsula is intersected by small two-lane highways and traditional unpaved “white roads” that meander through the historic towns and green hills. Baracija is located in the village of Krasica, on a private white road situated on a hillside, where the only neighbours are groves of centuries-old olive trees and vineyards that rustle in the wind beneath the terraces.

The gracious main house and playful guest house are connected by communal outdoor space. The impeccable service of your hosts is at your disposal to do everything to make you feel relaxed and at home.

At Baracija spring will greet you in shades of light green, soft yellow and red. You will look at the bright blue sky and enjoy the scents of flowers that only appear after winter. In summer, nature will scream with colours. Dark green hills, bursting vineyards, flowers of all imaginable colours and a bright blue sky that will turn amber-yellow in magical sunsets. In the autumn, beautiful in the colours of copper and earth, when nature slowly prepares for sleep and evokes the whiteness of winter. Baracija will provide you with a journey through all the colours of nature, with its stone walls and gardens that live all year round.

Baracija will provide you with a true vacation with a spacious garden, swimming pool with sun deck, private wellness with fitness, a large sports field and many activities on the property. The estate is surrounded by small roads that invite you to walk or ride a bike, hiking trails, and historic towns to explore. Originally a nineteenth-century Stanzia, Baracija started as a place for agriculture that evolved into a place for leisure. Today, the estate is completely renovated with every modern luxury in a historically respectful style. It’s almost a thousand square meters of main and guest house can accommodate sixteen guests. The main house welcomes ten guests through four floors, while the guest house offers additional privacy and peace, with a common living room, 3 bedrooms, terraces and a perfect view of nature. Adjacent to the main house is an outdoor summer kitchen featuring an open fireplace with asado grill, a massive communal table, and a terrace that will make socializing unforgettable.

The original house and its history have been carefully preserved during the renovation, using locally sourced wood and stone - the original materials that built a thousand years of Istrian history. You will be awakened by the scents of wood and fine cotton, fruit and olives, earth and flowers. Baracija is a dedication to a history it wants to tell in the present and, preserve for tomorrow.

Each painting on the walls of Baracija carries its own story. Each sculpture lives in its own space and makes it richer. The nature around the estate is the backdrop for the white walls of Istrian stone framed by wooden windows. There is a density of colours and textures, inspired by abundance, simplicity, and the easiness of the “bijela zemlja” or white earth of Istria. Everything is there, in one place.

Stanzia is a complex based on a family cooperative connected with agriculture in Istria. Eight bedrooms on one large estate. Dining rooms, chef’s kitchens, wine cellar and tasting room, private cinema, numerous terraces and common areas. All are intended only for the enjoyment of fulfilling conversations, a connection with nature, food, drinks and art. Located in a pristine part of Croatia that is close to everything and far from everyone. All of this makes Baracija special and remarkable.
