Welcome to Casa Lanui, one of the most unique luxury homes in Costa Rica. This brand new five-star villa has over 9,340 square foot (867m2) of construction and is situated in a private 1.6-acre (6500m2) property fronting the beautiful beach of Santa Teresa.
Casa stands for “home” in Spanish and Lanui for “holiday” in Hawaiian and we guarantee you exactly this: a holiday of a lifetime. The villa design is modern, classy, hippie chic and will make you feel at home away from home. Casa Lanui is located on the northern, most exclusive part of Santa Teresa, with direct access to the white-sand beach. All along the location of this beachfront villa, surfers can find the most consistent waves of Costa Rica.
This 7 bedroom, 7 1/2-bathroom villa comfortably accommodates big families or a group of friends in a unique, private and safe location. Casa Lanui is located within North Creek Estate, on the same property as Casa Taman (4 bedroom 4 ½ bath). Both houses can be rented separately or together for a large group, sleeping up to 28 guests combined.
Casa Lanui features 3 master bedrooms with breathtaking ocean views, 1 master bedroom with garden view as well as two children’s bedrooms, each one with two bunk beds, sleeping 8 in total. For accompanying staff (assistant, babysitter, chef…) or those who prefer more privacy, there is also separate studio with a king-size bed, full bathroom and kitchenette. This studio is handicap accessible and has an en-suite adapted full bathroom and roll-in shower.
The spacious living area can be opened completely towards the pool, deck and the ocean beyond. Inside you will find a big kitchen and prep kitchen, fully equipped, with ample seating at the kitchen island and at a console style table for 8-10 people. The dining area includes an 18-foot-long dining table that comfortably sits 20 people. Guests can relax in a large, cozy lounge area with a 60” television, and the ocean view in the background.
In front of the living room you can enjoy the infinity edge pool with shallow hang out areas, surrounded by terraces with several lounge chairs for your tanning and leisure activities.
There is an outdoor patio with a massage, yoga and workout area. Casa Lanui has two massage tables available and you can choose to have a massage inside in an air-conditioned room, in our outdoor shaded yoga deck or in the garden, close to the ocean under the shade of one of our many trees.
Between the house and the beach there is a naturally shaded, spacious, open area to hang out with lounge chairs and hammocks. Guests can enjoy a cocktail or dinner with an amazing view of the tropical sunset at the large dining table that is located close to the beach.
The beach in front of the North Creek Estate is absolutely stunning with pristine sand that goes on forever. In the shade of numerous trees, you can relax in full privacy while watching some fantastic, consistent surf.
Staying in Casa Lanui is a luxury experience and to make sure you have an unforgettable stay, we provide complimentary breakfast (food cost not included), concierge service and housekeeping. Our Property Manager and concierge will be available to address any issues that may arise during your stay.

Santa Teresa, a string of beaches on the southern tip of Costa Rica’s northwestern peninsula, has an edge-of-the-world vibe that still feels remote and inspires dreams of relocation. Driving down the dusty dirt road that connects the area’s four beaches — Playa Carmen, Playa Hermosa, Santa Teresa and Mal Pais —you will wonder what your life would be like in a town that experiences almost year-round sunshine (punctuated by the occasional biblical rainstorm, sure) and consistent 80-degree temperatures. This road that runs parallel to the beach has many cute cafés, restaurants, some galleries and the odd fashion boutique dotted among the surf shops.
Once a sleepy fishing village, Santa Teresa is now an increasingly luxurious surfer’s paradise filled with people who have made this particular fantasy their reality — and the occasional detox-seeking celebrity who likes living it for a week at a time. In addition to native Costa Ricans, or “Ticos,” there are American chefs, Australian surf instructors, French cafe owners and Argentine hoteliers.
An outer ripple of Costa Rica’s countrywide eco-tourism boom, Santa Teresa’s international community blossomed in the 2000s as foreign adventure-seekers discovered its confluence of natural attractions: white-sand beaches, reliable, long-breaking waves and innumerable species of wildlife. And while New Age hippies still populate the town’s scores of yoga studios, Santa Teresa is now evolving to cater to the growing number of comfort-loving families who have discovered its amazing beaches and lay back charms, including its proximity to the pristine 3,000-acre Cabo Blanco nature reserve, five miles to the south, and an increasing array of excellent small hotels, villas and restaurants.
