Things to Do
This part of Koh Samui is home to some of the island’s most sophisticated and exclusive private villas and properties. Your Villa Manager holds a mine of information and will be delighted to advise on how best to enjoy your stay on this beautiful island. Meanwhile, our Concierge will gladly assist with booking restaurants, advise on shopping, and make reservations for boat trips and other excursions and local experiences. Here’s a peek at what’s on offer:
Samui’s dazzling turquoise blue water is sure to entice you to take a boat trip and explore some of its countless beaches and neighbouring islands such as Koh Phangan (Full Moon Island) or the stunning karst archipelago of Angthong National Marine Park. Choose from a variety of power and sail boats, with pick-up points a stone’s throw away from your villa. Jump on board an elegant sailing catamaran at Choeng Mon Bay or take a high-speed boat from one of the piers in Bangrak. Your villa staff will be delighted to prepare a picnic and pack a cold box for your boating adventure.
Samui also offers plenty of half or full-day water excursions including snorkeling, sunset cruises, traditional wooden gulets or junks and even super luxury yachts for private charter.
Some of Asia’s most beautiful white sand beaches are at your doorstep. Stroll along the sand towards the charming Choeng Mon Beach where you can stop for a cool drink at any one of the many beachside cafes. If you’re up for something more challenging, the stunning five-kilometre stretch of Chaweng Beach is great for a run.
Chaweng Beach is also the place for jet skis and parasailing, and even banana boats for the young ones.
Koh Samui is renowned for its extraordinarily beautiful sunsets. When the brilliant orange sun goes down over the horizon, it’s time to head to one of the many popular viewpoints to experience this mesmerizing phenomenon, sunset cocktail in hand.
A visit to Koh Samui would be incomplete without a trip to the colourful and popular Fisherman’s Village Friday night street market, just a 20-minute drive from your villa. This original fisherman’s village retains all its local charm with countless souvenir stores and restaurants. On Friday evenings, the streets come alive even more so with hundreds of stalls selling local and international fare, fashion, electronics, art and crafts and so much more.
Food lovers won’t want to miss the island’s latest cooking school which takes you into the jungle and offers an authentic and immersive experience. Tamarind Tree Cooking School, located high up in the mountains above the district of Maenam on the north coast, invites you to pick some of your own ingredients from its extensive garden and then learn to prepare delicious dishes using traditional Thai tools, techniques and recipes unchanged over the centuries. The Elite Concierge can arrange for villa pick-up and drop-offs. Available for half-day, full-day and special group bookings.
The entire family will enjoy a trip to visit Samui’s elephants. Wonderful retirement homes for elephants who have worked exhausting hours in the logging and tourism industries, both Samui Elephant Sanctuary and Samui Elephant Haven are merely a 20-minute drive away from your villa.
Keen golfers will delight at the prospect of a round of golf at Santiburi Samui Country Club, one of Asia’s most scenic and challenging courses. This 18-hole championship golf course invites you to work on your handicap at its stunning hillside fairways, set amidst a preserved coconut palm plantation. After the game, enjoy a relaxing beer and a casual lunch or dinner at the clubhouse, overlooking the view.
