Sandyline

What a View!!

We spent a week at Sandyline with two other families and had a lovely time together! The property is expansive; it appears to be comprised of several large lots cascading down a slightly sloped hill overlooking the ocean. You couldn't choose a better location unless you wanted to be right on the beach! There are two pools at Sandyline; one is sort of a freeform lagoon style pool and the other is a curved infinity pool with gorgeous ocean views. There were quite a few blue mosaic tiles coming loose from the bottom of the infinity pool that cut a few feet but the pool service team seemed to be addressing it during our stay. Both pools were very clean and the water temperature was perfect! There's a hot tub above the lagoon style pool that we really enjoyed using. The temperature was also right on the money and we loved watching the sunset whilst taking a soak! Beware the surface of the hot tub is quite scratchy. It left a hole in one of our guest's bathing suits. We enjoyed using the outdoor covered pool table and spent a few evenings working on puzzles and playing games in the spacious common areas. The ceiling fans were great to mitigate the little flying biters that came out at sunset. Sandyline also has a tennis court on the lower part of the property which we used daily and really enjoyed. It's not a perfect court so some tennis aficionados might be disappointed with the surface. The net was strung well and there is a "clubhouse" with a bathroom and a shady area to sit and watch a match. The court is also lighted for evening use. Having the tennis court was a big plus for us! The gym is nicely equipped and we used it quite a bit. Sandyline is a great Villa for a large group (couples, multiple families or one giant family) as there are several gathering rooms and outdoor spaces to spread out. Our group of 14 had plenty of space and never felt cramped. The bedrooms are spaced out nicely for privacy; the primary bedroom is atop the gym, there are two additional bedrooms in the "main" part of the villa as well as a separate building that houses three more bedrooms. The 7th bedroom is under the infinity pool and was perfect for the older teens in our group. The AC worked great in the bedrooms which made for a restful night's sleep and everyone commented that their beds were very comfortable. The pillows were not great said several of the guests but that's a very personal item and everyone has different requirements. Some of the villa furnishings are a bit dated and appear to have been well used. They were not as nice as we would have expected at a Villa like Sandyline but were definitely usable. Several of the rooms have some interesting LED star lighting in the ceilings & floors which the kids thought was cool. All of the bathroom were clean and there were ample supplies of nice toiletries. The bathroom towels were small and rather thin. We had a great staff at Sandyline! The property's caretaker is Edmund and he is a lovely man. He is very personable and made himself available any time we had questions. The housekeepers, Pamela & Paulina, were very nice ladies and did a terrific job keeping the rooms & common areas neat & tidy at all times. They were also very helpful with laundry! Emanuel rounded out the villa staff and he assisted Pamela & Pauline as well as helping maintain the grounds. Our chef (Alex) & server (Christele) were from a company in Marigot called Fabulous Feasts. Chef Alex is an incredibly talented young man who made us the most delicious meals. They were creative and full of different flavors, colors, and textures. Everyone just loved his creations! Christele is lovely and is very competent & attentive. We never had to ask for anything! There were two people in our group with severe food allergies and both Alex & Christele were exceptionally diligent about making sure there were no issues. Down the hill from Sandyline are two great beaches that are easily accessible by car or foot. Though we visited other beautiful beaches on the island we enjoyed not having to go far with snorkel gear, towels, etc. Overall our stay at Sandyline was great, a 3.5/5 when compared to other similarly priced Villas we've rented recently. The Villa has great bones and so many things that make it a magical place! The overall consensus was that Sandyline would be over the top incredible with an investment in some newer furnishings and some updating of the bathrooms. Returning home to that stunning ocean view and of the sun setting every day after our island activities was just unbelievable!
