Set on the hillside of Cape Yamu on Phuket's serene east coast, Sapna is a modern five-bedroom haven with sweeping views of the sea on two sides. A lavish tropical holiday awaits guests at this idyllic Phuket villa, where a 20-metre private pool, stylish indoor and outdoor living areas, plush bedrooms and a gym are among the many luxurious features that will delight families and groups of friends. The villa's fresh, contemporary design, intriguing art accents, and lovely sunrise and sunset views, enchant the eye at every turn, while its friendly team of staff, including a villa manager and chef, ensure the days slip comfortably by.
With its exquisite coastal setting on Cape Yamu offering both sunrise and sunset views, Villa Sapna is a luxury holiday escape like no other. Its modern, bright interiors with vivid works of art and designer furnishings open fully to a large outdoor area with a 20-metre pool, sundeck and tropical gardens with a surrounding panorama of brilliant blue sea and sky.
A close-to-nature feel is captivatingly contrasted by avant-garde accents throughout the villa, especially in the living and dining area that brims with whimsy and colour. Faces are a strong feature in this room with a luscious-lipped portrait of a woman by Thai artist Attasit Pokpong and two smiling self-portraits by Chinese artist Yue Min Jun on display. The large family room, with its two sitting areas and a study opens completely to the pool terrace. Enjoy a workout with a view in the private gym, or gather to watch the sunset from the rooftop terrace. Each bedroom offers fabulous sea views, and a large sunken jacuzzi is among the added flourishes of luxury in the poolside master suite.
The villa has a big modern kitchen, but with a skillful Chef available for every meal, guests are unlikely to spend much time here. Private dining is just one element of the five-star experience at Sapna: a villa manager is on hand to ensure that every guest need is met, and a housekeeper attends daily to keep the villa pristine. The villa's extraordinary sea-view setting also offers a dreamy backdrop for a wedding or event for up to 40 guests.
Cape Yamu is home to a few luxury villa estates but the area is mostly given to a rural landscape of forested hills and plantations of rubber, banana and pineapple. Sapam Bay is a five-minute walk away from the villa, its calm waters shimmering gold at sunset. Phang Nga Bay beckons to the east, with limestone islands to explore by chartering a boat at the nearby pier or east coast marinas. Though the villa's location feels blissfully secluded, many good dining choices, shopping centres, spas, golf courses and swimming beaches are within a half hour’s drive.
Sapna's living areas and bedrooms are arranged over two floors in two peak-roofed pavilions set around the pool, with superb sea views from every room.
The pavilion at the foot of the pool houses the open-plan living and dining area, kitchen and one guest bedroom on the ground floor, with a second guest bedroom upstairs. A lift connects this pavilion’s ground floor to the car park area below. The second pavilion, which houses the gym and master bedroom on the ground floor and two guest bedrooms upstairs, includes the family room and rooftop terrace in a single-storey wing that extends the length of the pool.
Sapna's stylish living areas form an L-shape around the pool terrace. Every room can be cooled by either air conditioning or by ceiling fans and sliding doors that let tropical breezes flow through. A Roche Bobois designer sofa in a boho striped and floral design forms a functional art piece that draws the eye into the bright, cheerful living and dining area, where the walls are adorned with vivid contemporary paintings. The solid timber dining table seats 14, while a black granite island in the adjacent kitchen offers breakfast-bar seating for five. The large, modern kitchen is available and well-equipped for guests, but likely to be used mainly by the villa Chef.
The family room offers a chic yet cozy spot to unwind, with two sets of sand-toned sofas arranged in a TV lounge area and sitting area. Sliding glass doors across the entire front of the room open to the pool terrace for open-air tropical living. An office nook with a desk, bookshelves and printer is set in the back corner of this room, while the gym with elliptical and weight-resistance equipment is found in a separate room behind.
Every outdoor living area at Sapna offers sweeping views over the sea, with the 20-metre pool forming the focal point surrounded by lawn, tropical gardens and sand-wash terracing. A large all-weather sofa and six sunbeds invite poolside relaxation, and a barbecue and outdoor dining table for eight provide the perfect setting for guests to indulge in a grilled seafood feast under the stars. Early-morning swimmers are rewarded with sunrise views over Phang Nga Bay, while the comfortably furnished rooftop terrace is the place to gather for cocktails and take in the colourful sunsets over Sapam Bay.
