From Naples to Capri, Campania offers travelers views, tastes and experiences that they simply cannot get anywhere else. Its history is also rich and varied, as it was home to a high number of civilizations, and it was recognized by the Romans as a cultural centre as a result of its heritage. Today, visitors to Campania are often stunned by its natural beauty, as the coasts of Capri, Naples, and Amalfi have long been considered among Europe's most beautiful. Its culinary history, meanwhile, is second to none, as the region birthed the modern pizza, and is also known for its plethora of renowned cheeses and salads. Its artwork is also legendary, as public works like the Palace of Caserta led 16th century Spanish author Cervantes to comment that Naples was the most beautiful city he had ever seen. As such, a visit to the region is a must for those touring through Italy, which is also why Campania vacation rentals remain so popular to this day.
Car rentals are not necessary if one is planning on staying within Naples itself, as the city is very pedestrian-friendly, or if one is intending on simply visiting Capri. If, however, one is looking to tour the region and discover some of its lesser-known towns, then a car rental is certainly useful. Some Campania vacation rentals are even located in such towns, making a car rental absolutely necessary. Travelers are therefore advised to inquire as to the location of the rental where they are staying. Renting a car also enables travelers to take in some of Campania's beautiful coastline on their own terms, allowing them to behold views that have been the inspiration for countless works of art.
Because Campania has long been a popular destination for tourists, several areas, most notably Milan, Capri and Amalfi, are served by chain and boutique hotels alike. Campania vacation rentals, though, offer a wholly unique experience in that they allow travelers to live like locals, as well as to try their hand at cooking some of the region's local specialties using the abundance of fresh produce available at the town's markets. These rentals are also often located in regions that are separate from the usual tourist hubs, and owners go out of their way to ensure that they offer the absolute best in value and customer service.
