Your Guide to Luxury Villa Rentals in Casa de Campo

As the Dominican Republic’s first resort, Casa de Campo has been offering some of the best service, amenities, and dining in the Caribbean for over 50 years. This tradition of excellence extends to Casa de Campo luxury villas as well. Often featuring large private pools, expansive verandas, carefully selected furnishings, and a full professional staff, luxury villas in Casa de Campo are designed to provide a high-end, unforgettable vacation experience – just like the resort itself.

That said, villas in Casa de Campo come in all shapes and size, so the first thing you’ll want to do when renting one is to confirm your approximate party size. From there, your options are wide open. Casa de Campo is home to beachfront villas, ocean view villas, classic villas, golf villas, exclusive villas, and more. Choosing the best villa really depends on what matters most to you and your travel group, and your Rental Escapes villa rental specialist will be happy to go over some villa options with you based on your preferences.

Why Rent a Villa in Casa de Campo?

Nothing beats the privacy, service, and luxury of having your own private villa, especially if you’re traveling with a group, and Casa de Campo has one of the best selection of villas in the Caribbean. Picture walking into your own private refuge in paradise, your group excitedly checking out the villa’s different rooms and sections, going into the kitchen to find all your favorite foods and drinks pre-stocked, and coming together in the pool and outdoor living area to a barbeque cooked and served by your private staff. All that and more can be done at Casa de Campo’s private villas.

Casa de Campo villas are also a great value for groups, especially when you consider the price of multiple comparable hotel rooms. With a villa, for the same price or less, your group has their own private bedrooms, private pool, individualized staff, and a Rental Escapes concierge who is there to further personalize the trip with everything from villa pre-stocking, excursions, rentals, airport transfers, and so much more. Villa life really is the ultimate way to experience this beautiful destination.

Luxury Villas in Casa de Campo

Casa de Capo villas helped set the bar for luxury in the DR, and they’re still testaments to sophisticated, elevated vacation living today. Featuring everything from modern, contemporary constructions to neo-Classical inspired estates, each villa is uniquely designed and furnished with its own distinct personality and sense of style, making no two villa experiences alike. And while there’s such a big variety, some of our most popular villa options here include oceanfront villas, exclusive villas, and golf villas.

Casa de Campo Oceanfront Villas

With its privileged location by La Romana on the southeast coast of the Dominican Republic, Casa de Campo is located at the northern tip of the Caribbean Sea. This gives it access to distinctly azure waters, punctuated by soft sand and plenty of lush tropical vegetation. As a result, Casa de Campo’s oceanfront villas are among the most coveted in the whole resort. Here are a few top picks:

Villa Miramar: As the name implies, Villa Miramar offers spectacular views of Minitas Bay, as well as of the world-famous Teeth of the Dog golf course and its celebrated coastline. It also features a private, man-made lagoon for you to enjoy, right beside a large, heated infinity pool. With 5-bedrooms, it really is an intimate, heavenly villa, elevated all the further by its stylish art inside and its large gazebo and covered cabanas outside.

Bahia Minitas 6: A great choice for larger groups wanting an oceanfront Casa de Campo villa, Bahia Minitas 6 delivers both the elegance and fun that the resort is known for, making it a fantastic choice for families. The villa is divided into three pavilions, with a children’s pavilion having tons of games, bunk beds, and twin beds. The vaulted high ceilings and rich mahogany detailing, meanwhile, elevate all three pavilions with a rich sophistication, while a gym and basketball/volleyball court keep guests active, regardless of their age.

Punta Minitas 34: Set on its own strip of private, white sand beach on Minitas Bay, Punta Minitas 34 benefits from one of the best locations in Casa de Campo. Imagine waking up and walking through its lush tropical garden, past the private gym where you had your workout for the day and the infinity pool where you consider a dip, only to arrive at an infinite expanse of a shimmering Caribbean Sea right at your doorstep that’s all yours to enjoy. That is true luxury.

Casa de Campo Exclusive Villas

Though the resort maintains a high standard of service and amenities across all its villas, Casa de Campo exclusive villas are at the highest level of luxury that you’ll find not only in the resort, but across the whole of the Dominican Republic. They are fully staffed - including private chef service - richly appointed, uniquely designed, and offer extras like full gyms, basketball courts, and more. Each really is its own world, just waiting to be discovered. They include:

Punta Minitas 19: With its distinct architecture and views of both Minitas Bay and Casa de Campo’s yacht-heavy marina, Punta Minitas 19 is visually spectacular in every possible way. It also offers elevated living with a fully stocked bar, private chef service, a sprawling terrace, 2 media rooms, a saltwater pool, 2 large master bedrooms with stunning ocean views and large balconies, and an additional 4 well-appointed bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms. Despite being recent construction, it’s fast developing a reputation as one of Casa de Campo’s best villas.

Costamar 10: With elegant detailing and a modern, contemporary design, Costamar 10 evokes a world of possibility. On arrival, you walk up to an impressive foyer with its own reflective pool and high vaulted ceilings to an expansive outdoor area with lush tropical landscaping and a breathtaking pool and jacuzzi combined into one, with expansive ocean views. You look up and notice the large terrace on the second floor, wondering what else yet awaits, as the hors d’oeuvres prepared by the chef are presented to you by your staff. And that’s just the start of your stay.

Baranca Oeste 4: Separated into four bungalows, this lovely villa is centred around its impressive beach style pool, complete with sand and a progressive incline into the water. It also features a grotto with a bar and a slide with music and lights, a large barbeque area, an indoor jacuzzi, a kids’ pool, a swim up bar, a movie theatre, private staff (including chef), and so much more. It’s a fun and versatile villa option that’s perfect for large groups.

Casa de Campo Golf Villas

Casa de Campo is home to three championship golf courses, including the Teeth of the Dog, the #1 rated course in the Caribbean, as well as the Links and the Dye Fore. This makes it a premiere tropical golf destination, so it’s no surprise that Casa de Campo golf villas are also in high demand. These villas are located near the resort’s golf courses and have great views of the holes and their surroundings. They include:

Golf Villa 236: Located on the Links course, this 5-bedroom villa is a great choice for families and golfers alike. It features both a private pool and a kiddie pool, as well as a large jacuzzi, an entertainment area with a pool table, and an outdoor veranda with great view of holes 1 and 10. It’s also walking distance to both the Links and the Teeth of the Dog, so you’ll never miss a tee time.

Golf Villa 142: Also set along the Links, this 4-bedroom villa is a great value for families. It features excellent views of the course, an open and airy design, an authentic and lived-in feel, tropical landscaping, and modern amenities. It’s also has plenty of room for the little ones to run around, and an outdoor living space and pool area that guests of all ages will enjoy.

Golf Villa 8: This 3-bedroom villa is one of the best values in Casa de Capo for smaller groups. It features exquisite vies of the Teeth of the Dog golf course, as well as ocean views extending to the remarkable Catalina Island. It also has a bright, contemporary design that imbues you with energy during the day and relaxes at night.

What’s the Best Time to Visit Casa de Campo?

High season in Casa de Campo is from December-April. The weather is at its mildest, with lots of sunshine and very little chance of rain. The resort is also in full swing, and you’ll have the best chance of catching special events and concerts. If you don’t mind paying full price, then this is the best time to go.

Shoulder season is from November-December and May-July. You’ll still see great weather, but with a slightly higher chance of rain, especially in the afternoon. This is a great time to take advantage of smaller crowds and better deals, while still enjoying the warm water and balmy weather that Casa de Campo is known for.

Lastly, the wet season runs from August-November. This is when you’ll see the highest chance of rain, as well as a slight chance of tropical storms. It’s also when you’ll find the best deals on Casa de Campo villas, so for those who don’t mind taking a chance (and possibly buying travel insurance), it can be a good time to travel as well.

Best Things to do in Casa de Campo?

Go golfing: Casa de Campo is home to the #1 ranked golf course in the Caribbean - Teeth of the Dog. Designed by Pete Dye, this 18-hole championship course is full of carefully considered and creative challenges and is bordered by stunning ocean views and lush vegetation. Casa de Campo is also home to the Link and Dye Fore, two additional Pete Dye-designed courses. This makes playing at Casa de Campo a must for any golfer.

Go on a boat charter: The marina is the heart of Casa de Campo, and where you’ll find no shortage of yachts, sailboats, and speed boats docked and ready to go. Thankfully, you don’t have to own one of them to enjoy the amazing sailing, fishing, diving, and water sports that are available. There are a variety of boat charters your concierge can schedule for you, including snorkelling trips, sports fishing trips, and trips to nearby Catalina Island.

Visit Altos de Chavon: If the marina is the heart of Casa de Campo, then Altos de Chavon is its soul. A recreation of a 16th century Mediterranean village, the stunning Altos de Chavon is home to spectacular concerts in its amphitheatre, beautiful artisan work in its shops, and some truly unforgettable photo shoots. It’s also where you’ll find some of the resort’s best restaurants and the centre of its nightlife.

How is the Food in Casa de Campo?

Casa de Campo is home to no less than 10 distinct dining options, each of which are operated with the same care and dedication to quality and luxury that the resort is known for. They run the gamut from formal to casual options (including two food trucks), with all manner of international cuisine represented.

This includes the famous La Cana, the resort’s premiere fine dining establishment (and one of the best in the Dominican), serving up French-inspired cuisine with a big emphasis on fresh, high-quality ingredients. There’s also La Piazzetta, serving quality Italian, and Chilango Taqueria, a Mexican restaurant, both of which are in Altos de Chavon and benefit from its unique ambiance; Causa, serving up Peruvian food, and SBG serving Mediterranean food, both by the Marina; Lago restaurant serving contemporary cuisine by the Teeth of the Dog, and so much more.

Private chef service and villa pre-stocking can also be arranged for any villa rental with Rental Escapes. That means you can be sure all your meals correspond to your specific tastes and diet, and that all your favorite and drinks will already be stocked in the villa when you arrive.

The dry season runs from December to June and features balmy, sunny weather, with highs averaging between 27°C-29°C (81°F-84°F), and water temperatures of 27°C (81°F). That means there’s enough of a cool breeze to keep things from getting too hot, but the water’s still warm enough to swim comfortably while you get a nice tan.

Wet season from June-November sees a higher chance of precipitation and clouds, especially in the afternoon, with slightly higher temperatures as well. Highs increase to around 32°C (90°F), and water temperatures rise to 29°C (84°F).
