Why Travel to Antigua?<\/span><\/h2>\n

Just southeast of USVI, St Barts, and St Martin, Antigua is nestled along the eastern edge of the Leeward Islands. That means it benefits from great weather, gorgeous landscapes, and some of the best sailing conditions in the whole Caribbean.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In fact, sailing has long been a part of Antiguan history, and the island is home to the oldest dockyard in the western hemisphere – Nathan\u2019s Dockyard. A UNESCO Heritage Site, it\u2019s one of Antigua\u2019s biggest tourist attractions and offers visitors the chance to experience an 18th-century<\/span>\u00a0British base, as well as learn more about Antigua\u2019s rich \u2013 and sometimes difficult \u2013 history.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Its lookout is where those iconic Antigua photos of the harbour are taken. It\u2019s also home to a Sunday night BBQ party that\u2019s always a big hit with tourists and locals alike.<\/span><\/p>\n

Further west, you\u2019ll find Jolly Harbor, a marina and development with a beautiful mix of sandy beaches, great views of St. Kitts and Nevis, and rows upon rows of catamarans, yachts, and power boats. It\u2019s also home to an 18-hole championship golf course.<\/span><\/p>\n

Antigua is also surrounded by coral reefs, tropical fish, and \u2013 no surprise, given its history \u2013 shipwrecks. All this makes for some of the best snorkelling in the Caribbean, at least outside the ABC islands. And as you can imagine, there\u2019s no shortage of boat tours available for scuba diving, deep sea fishing, wakeboarding, parasailing, and all other manners of water sports.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
